Missa Catolica Bulgarica

“MISSA CATHOLICA BULGARICA” FOR CHOIR, PERCUSSION (DRUM), AND PIANO, composed in 2001–2002, has been performed numerous times. In the four movements of the work, with Latin text - Kyrie, Gloria, Credo (which is the most extensive), and Sanctus - follow the structure of the short Catholic Mass (Missa Breve). Yuli Damyanov creates original musical images using Bulgarian intonations and a variety of irregular rhythms, emphasized by the tapan, which plays an important role in the score.
