Symphonic Dance No.7 from "Seven Symphonic Dances", Op. 32

Maestro Vladigerov began composing SEVEN SYMPHONIC BULGARIAN DANCES based on choral folk melodies Vladigerov in April 1931 in Berlin and completed the sketches of four dances in the piano. He went on holiday with his wife Katya to his native Shumen in June, where he wrote the remaining three dances in twenty days. However, he would change the order they were created in the overall construction - the first dance he wrote became the last: 'A Holiday Dance', 'You Dimitro , Eh!', 'Sitno Horo', 'Radka Is Up Early In The Morning', 'Paidushko Horo', 'Bilyana', 'Large Horo'. On September 13^th Vladigerov played his new work on the piano for the first time at a concert specially organised for him and his wife at the Archangel Michael Community Centre. And after his return to Berlin in the autumn, he also made the colourful and lavish orchestration of the dances. There are various original transcriptions of individual dances - for two pianos, two violins, flute and piano, etc., as well as the transcription of the Large Horo for two violins and symphony orchestra, specially made for Dina Schneidermann and Emil Kamilarov - Vladigerov's favourite performers and first interpreters of a number of his works.
