The famous VIOLIN CONCERTO No. 2 of Paganini’s six violin concertos fascinated from its very first performance in 1826 on the stage of the Scala di Milano, not only because of it’s glamorous virtuosity, but also because of the richness and individuality of the melodic style. The popular name of the concert „La Campanella” („little bell”) is derived from the name of the third part – Rondo alla campanella or Ronde à la clochette, in which the character of the small bells and bells from the Italian carnivals seems to resonate and evoke associations with the ancient Italian folk song „La Campanella“. Ferenc Liszt transcribed La Campanella for solo piano, Fritz Kreisler reworked it for violin and piano, it is popular in the modern concert repertoire and in arrangements for individua linstruments such as guitar, flute, saxophone and various instrumental ensembles.
