Symphony No.46

Symphony No. 46 (1772) is among his early opuses. It was written in the rare tonality of the time - B major. It was composed exactly during the years of the Sturm und Drang movement, the German artistic protest against classicism and the cult of reason in favour of increased emotionality and subjectivism. Haydn experimented, changing the symphony structurally and emotionally.
