"Rachenitsa" - Suite in Three Movements

Among his well-known symphonic opuses are the Youth Overture, Rhythmic Movements, Antiphonal Dialogues, and Three Diaphonic Dances was one of the 10 recommended works in the “International Rostrum of the Composer” in Paris under the auspices of UNESCO in 1972. One of his most recent works is the ” Rachenitsa” , a Symphonic Suite in three movements. “It is Rachenitsa because all three movements are subordinate to the 7/8 rhythm. The first movement is in first extended time, the second in second extended time, and the third movement is the actual Rachenitsa,” the composer said in a recent interview on the occasion of his 80th birthday.
