Fantaisie in F minor, Op. 49, for Piano
About the work
The one-part FANTAISIЕ, Op. 49 was created in 1841. In a letter, the then 31-year-old composer explained that he had given the title 'Fantaisie' to suggest the free, improvisatory nature of the work and its romantic nature. It is one of his longest single-movement works, with a complex, varied thematic structure.
