The CONCERTO No.1 in F minor was performed by Bärmann only two months later, on 13 June 1811, in the presence of the first King of Bavaria, Maximilian Joseph (1756-1825). That concerto remained a favourite work in Bärmann’s repertoire, the musician possibly captivated by the extraordinary romantic mysticism of the first movement, the melancholic poetry of the second and the vital virtuosity of the final Rondo. The Concerto No 2 was composed immediately, and premiered in the autumn of that year. Weber and Bärmann undertook a concert tour together from 1 December 1811 to 28 March 1812.
