About the work
Composed in 1944, Festival Te Deum for choir, organ and boy/girl solo voice by BENJAMIN BRITTEN employs the ancient Christian hymn Te Deum laudamus (“We praise thee, O God”). The rich organ part and the harmonic language characteristic of the composer lend the work festive brilliance and deep spiritual power.
