Bulgaria Concert Complex Art Gallery /Galeria Bulgaria/

The Bulgaria Art Gallery, part of the Bulgaria Concert Complex, was established in 2004 on the initiative of Yavor Dimitrov, then Director of the Sofia Philharmonic.

The gallery was created to showcase works by Bulgarian and international artists in the fields of fine and applied arts, while complementing and becoming an integral part of the wider cultural environment of the Bulgaria Concert Complex.

Over the years, the Bulgaria Gallery has established its place not only within the Sofia Philharmonic, but also in Sofia’s cultural life. It has presented works by Zahari Kamenov, Vezhdi Rashidov, Georgi Trifonov, Georgi Boyadzhiev, Ivan Yahnadzhiev, Nikolay Maystorov, Alexander Titorenkov, Sava Tsonovski, Alexander Terziev, Kiril Bozhkov, Vasil Goranov, Mara Atanasova and many others.

The gallery has also presented works from art galleries in Ruse, Plovdiv, Varna, Kyustendil and Blagoevgrad, as well as from the Dechko Uzunov Gallery and Maestro Gallery in Sofia.

In its relatively short history, through a series of exhibitions and photography exhibitions, the Bulgaria Gallery has also preserved the memory and artistic legacy of prominent figures associated with Bulgaria’s musical culture, including Raina Kabaivanska (marking 50 years of her artistic career), Anton Dikov, Alexis Weissenberg, Pancho Vladigerov, Vladi Simeonov, Emil Tchakarov, Boris Christoff and many others.

The gallery has also hosted exhibitions marking the 80th, 85th and 90th anniversaries of the Sofia Philharmonic, the 70th and 75th anniversaries of the National Philharmonic Choir, and the 80th anniversary of the Bulgaria Concert Complex.
