Yuval Weinberg

YUVAL WEINBERG is chief conductor of the SWR Vokalensemble in Stuttgart. He has worked as guest conductor with various professional ensembles such as the Bavarian Radio Choir, the Bach Society Choir in Leipzig, the Chorwerk Ruhr in Bochum, the Norwegian Soloists Choir, the Dutch Radio Choir, the Berlin Radio Choir and the Turkish State Choir. Yuval Weinberg studied choral conducting at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo with Grete Pedersen and the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin and Jörg-Peter Weigle. He has won won numerous international competitions, including the Best Conductor Award at the Internationaler Kammerchor-Wettbewerb Marktoberdorf (2017), the Gary Bertini Prize for Choral Conductors (2016) and the first prize at the International Choir Conducting Competition in Wroclaw (2014). His recordings have been awarded the annual Diapason d'or prize and the German Record Critics' Award. He has conducted masterclasses and conducting workshops in Europe and works regularly with young singers in choirs such as Eurochoir (2019-2022), the German National Youth Choir, and the Norwegian National Youth Choir (2017-2019).
