JOANNA RUSEVA (1998) graduated from the Lyubomir Pipkov National Music School in Sofia in the violin class of  Blagorodna Taneva. She is a laureate of 16 competitions, including MAGIK in Burgas, the international competitions Petar Toshkov, Dobrin Petkov and Kocian – Czech Republic (2008), Nedyalka Simeonova (2011), Young Virtuosi – Sofia (2013). She was a finalist at the Moscow International David Oistrakh Violin Competition in Moscow (2013). In 2017 she was awarded at the Andrea Postacini Competition, in 2018 at the Stefani Hall Competition, where she also received a diploma from the Vienna String Society. In 2019 she received a special prize and the audience prize at the Szymon Goldberg Competition in Mainz and a special prize at the Anton Rubinstein Competition in Düsseldorf, Germany, as well as a prize at the University Competition of the String Department of the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. In 2020 he won the Grand Prix of the La Musique et Terre Competition in Paris, France, and in 2022 he was a semi-finalist at the Enescu Competition in Bucharest, Romania.

In Bulgaria, Joanna Ruseva has been a soloist of the Classic FM Orchestra, the Burgas, Vidin, Vratsa and Pleven Philharmonics, and has made several appearances with the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra. In 2017 she made her debut in the “Glaesender Saal” at the Musikverein in Vienna. She performs regularly at the Konzerthaus and Musikverein as soloist and in the renovated new music ensemble Wiener Collage. From 2020 she has been appearing in duo with the renowned French pianist Guillaume Vincent, and they have performed solo and chamber music in Austria, France and Bulgaria.

Joanna Ruseva studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. She has specialized in master classes of Mincho Minchev, Zakhar Bron, Augustin Dumay, Pierre Amoyal, Anton Sorokow, Elisabeth Kropfitsch.

Since 2021, she has been playing the Deconette 1776 violin, provided to her after winning a competition, by the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

Since October 2023, she has been the second violin leader of the orchestra of the Baden Opera House in Austria.
