Vladislav Kazenin

Russian composer Vladislav Kazenin (1937–2014) was born in Kirov. After graduating from high school in 1955, he entered the Ural State Conservatory, where he studied composition and piano. In 1968, he moved to Moscow, where he worked as the chief editor of the Union of Composers of the USSR. In 1971, he was elected Executive Secretary of the Moscow Composers' Organization. Since 1986, he has been working on the board of the Soviet Culture Fund, in 1987 he was appointed Deputy Minister of Culture of the USSR, where he worked until 1990. Since 1990, he headed the Union of Composers of Russia, worked in a number of government committees. He wrote operettas, musicals, film and incidental music.
