Soprano URSULA LANGMAYR was born in Linz and studied at the Mozarteum-University in Salzburg, where she was trained by Ingrid Janser-Mayr and Wolfgang Holzmayr. Her international career as a concert singer has been marked by appearances with the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra under Cornelius Meister and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra under Erwin Ortner, “Klangforum – Vienna under Sylvain Cambreling, Bruckner Orchestra – Linz under Dennis Russell Davies, Munich Radio Symphony Orchestra under Riccardo Chailly, etc. She has successfully participated international festivals such as Wien Modern, Wiener Festwochen, Steirischer herbst, Styriarte, Bregenzer Festspiele, Salzburger Festspiele, Carinthischer Sommer, Berlin modern, Warsaw autumn, Wagner Festival in Wales, etc.
Ursula Langmayr has soloed in numerous productions of operas by contemporary composers, such as Melancholia by Georg Friedrich Haas, Orpheo by Philipp Glass, Fouche by Franz Hummel, The Birth of the Baptist by Jyrki Linjama, etc. Song recitals, opera performances and solo appearances in cantata-oratorio works mark her artistic output. She has been touring around the USA, Japan, China, Russia, New Zealand, Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, Finland, Poland, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Serbia and Bosnia. Since 2016, Ursula Langmayr has been teaching at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
