Todor Stoykov

Biography

Todor Stoykov (1932-1993) graduated from the State Academy of Music majoring in Piano and Composition under Professor Pancho Vladigerov and Conducting under Professor Assen Dimitrov. He conducted the Gusla Choir (1960), the Opera of Stara Zagora (1961); the Burgas Philharmonic (1962-77). As a conductor, composer and pianist he took part in over 500 concerts in Bulgaria and abroad. He toured the former Czechoslovakia, Germany, Greece, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, former Yugoslavia, etc. He composed symphony, chamber and choral music. Among the most performed works are his concertos (for piano and orchestra, bassoon and orchestra), his piano works and choral songs.
