Taylor Brownfield

Biography

TAYLOR BROWNFIELD is currently a master’s degree candidate in Orchestral Conducting at Louisiana State University, studying with Professor Scott Terrell. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in music performance with a focus in percussion from LSU in 2021, studying under Dr. Brett Dietz. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Fleet Band, where he served on active duty as a percussionist with the Marine Forces Reserve Band, stationed in New Orleans, Louisiana, from 2022-2025. Brownfield has performed as a percussionist with the Rapides and Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestras. He is currently the Assistant Conductor of the New Orleans Civic Symphony and the Founder and Artistic Director of the Le Nouveau Chamber Collective, a chamber ensemble based in the New Orleans area. Brownfield has participated in numerous orchestral conducting masterclasses with Martin Åkerwall, Donald Schleicher, and other notable teachers. He has had the pleasure of conducting the United States Marine Forces Reserve Band, Louisiana Youth Orchestra, Camerata Belgrade Chamber Orchestra (Serbia), San Francisco Philharmonic, New Orleans Civic Symphony, LSU Symphony and Concert Orchestras, and the Rapides Symphony Orchestra.
