Strahinja Djokic

Strahinja Djokic is a piano accompanist and an opera singer, born in Novi Sad in 1991.

He finished elementary music school Isidor Bajic, piano department, with a professor Dragana Popovic Maric. He has been working as a piano accompanist in Serbian National theater since 2011. In 2014, he completed his studies of opera singing at secondary music school Isidor Bajic with a professor Senka Nedeljkovic. As a soloist (bass), he was a member of Opera studio at the National theater in Belgrade from 2013 to 2015, where he is still engaged as a guest artist. Among many awards, he is a winner of the state competition for young singers (years 2011 and 2013) in Belgrade. He made his debut at the National theater (Belgrade) and Serbian National theater (Novi Sad) as Il Carceriere in opera Tosca in 2014. He was engaged as a piano accompanist at Isidor Bajic music school in the academic year 2015/16. From 2016 to 2018 he was a scholarship holder of Raina Kabaivanska fondation at the Istituto Vecchi-Tonelli (Corso di tecnica vocale e interpretazione) in Modena (Italy). In December 2016, Strahinja had his debut in Bulgaria, at Sofia Opera and Ballet as Timur in Turandot and as Oroveso in Norma in October 2017. In September 2017, he completed master's degree at the piano department at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, with a professor Biljana Gorunovic. He made role debuts in Serbian National theater (Novi Sad) in La bohème (Colline, December 2018) and Il trovatore (Ferrando, January 2019). During 2019, he has been a member of the Accademia del Belcanto - Fondazione Paolo Grassi (Martina Franca, Italy). Since March 2019, he has been working as a piano accompanist at the singing department at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. In December 2019, Strahinja won the first prize and the prize for the best bass at Nicolai Ghiaurov competition (Modena, Italy). In September 2020 he won Miroslav Cangalovic diploma for outstanding contribution to the arts. In 2021 he won two competitions, Ghena Dimitrova (Pleven, Bulgaria) and Lazar Jovanovic (Belgrade, Serbia). At the beginning of season 2021/2022, he made his debut in Aida (Il re, Ramfis). Taking part in the project Cross opera (collaboration between Serbian National theater, Teatro Comunale di Modena and Landestheater Linz), he made his debut in theaters in Modena (Italy) and Linz (Austria). At the 8th international competition Vera Kovac Vitkai he won Grand prix. In January 2022, he made his debut as Leporello in Don Giovanni (Belgrade, Serbia) and in June (as part of the project Buongiorno a casa Pavarotti) as Dulcamara in L'elisir d’amore (Modena, Italy). He took part in festival Valle d’Itria (Martina Franca, Italy) in opera Le joueur (Il barone Wurmerheim, Le Gros Anglais) and made his debut in Teatro Olimpico (Vicenza, Italy) in opera Don Giovanni (Il commendatore) at festival Vicenza in Lirica. In October, he held a concert with a soprano, Sonja Saric at the festival SOMUS (Sombor, Serbia) with the program of German songs (songs by F. List, G. Mahler and R. Strauss). In November 2022, he held his first masterclass for singers and pianists in Isidor Bajic School of Music . In December 2022, he came back to Sofia interpreting the role of Colline (La bohème).
