STOIMEN PEEV (b. 1988) won his first competitions as a student in Antoaneta Ilieva’s violin class at the Dobri Hristov National School of Arts in Varna. Among those are the competitions in Provadia – “Svetoslav Obretenov”, Haskovo – “Nedyalka Simeonova”, Varna – “Dobri Hristov” and his participation in the program of Konzerthaus, Vienna.
He graduated from the Prof. Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music in the class of Prof. Ginka Gichkova. During his studies he became a prize-winner of academic and international competitions, among which are Pancho Vladigerov, Shumen, Emil Kamilarov, Sofia.
Since 2011 he has been a violinist in the Sofia Soloists Chamber Ensemble. As a soloist of the ensemble he has given several world premieres of contemporary works. He has made numerous recordings for the Bulgarian National Radio in orchestral or piano accompaniment, including premieres, as well as multiple broadcasts on Bulgarian National Television. He has been a soloist with a number of orchestras at home and abroad. In November 2015, he performed Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto at the Metropolitan Art Space in Tokyo under the baton of Maestro Mitsuyoshi Oikawa.
From 2014 to 2022 he was also the first violinist of the Sofia Quartet at the Sofia Philharmonic. In 2022 he got his PhD at the Prof. Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music. He has been a senior assistant professor and lecturer at the String Instruments Department since 2023.
