STEFANI KRASTEVA (b. 1994) regularly performs at the invitation of the Sofia Philharmonic: in performances of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and Mahler’s Fourth Symphony under the baton of Sascha Goetzel, at the traditional Christmas concerts, and as part of the Cantilena Chamber Collegium. She actively performs on concert and festival stages around the country: In 2016 she was included in the programme of the March Musical Days International Festival in Ruse (in Metamorphoses by Lazar Nikolov); in 2017 she was among the participants in the masterclass of soprano Krassimira Stoyanova, held within the framework of the Apollonia Festival of Arts; she sang at the Tenth Anniversary International Festival “Days of Music in Balabanov House” on the same stage with Krassimira Stoyanova and continued participating in the festival in Plovdiv for several consecutive years.
Stefani Krasteva studied at the National School of Arts Dobri Hristov – Varna, graduated from the Vocal Faculty of the Music Academy in the class of Classical singing of Prof. Ivanka Ninova and Acting under Acad. Plamen Kartalov.
Winner of the Second Prize at the First International Competition “Art Stars”, Varna; First Prize at the Festival of Russian Classical and Contemporary Romance “Balkan Romance”; First Prize at the International Youth Festival “Slavic Bell”.
She made her debut in productions during her studies. She performed in the role of Bastienne from W. A. Mozart’s opera Bastien und Bastienne and Dolcina from Puccini’s opera Suor Angelica, the leading roles from the children’s operas The Little Red Riding Hood by César Cui and Puss in Boots. Debuts at the Ruse and Sofia Opera Houses followed. In November 2017 she made her debut on the stage of the Ruse Opera as Gilda from Rigoletto conducted by Georgi Dimitrov. In February 2019, she made her first appearance in a Sofia Opera and Ballet production as Tatiana from Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. In October 2019, on the same stage, she performs the role of Christiania from the opera Zachary the Painter by Marin Goleminov.
In November 2018, she won the “With Efforts to the Stars” scholarship provided by the Cultural Perspectives Foundation with Krassimira Stoyanova as a mentor. In 2020 she toured with concerts in Žilina, Slovakia.
Among her upcoming engagements are a debut in the role of Hanna Hlavari in The Merry Widow in the premiere production of the Stefan Makedonski National Music Theatre ; participation in a concert performance of Porgy and Bess with the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Prague Philharmonic Choir; debut in the Wagner’s Parsifal at the Tyrol Festival in Erl (Austria) against Jonas Kaufmann in the role of Parsifal.
