Sergej Krylov

SERGEJ KRYLOV is a frequent guest soloist with many of the world’s leading orchestras. His distinguished career has included performances with the London Philharmonic, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Deutsches Symphonie - Orchester Berlin, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Budapest Festival Orchestra, NHK Symphony Orchestra Tokyo, Frankfurt Radio Symphony, Russian National Orchestra, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, La Scala Philharmonic, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Hungarian National Philharmonic, Armenian Philharmonic, I Pomeriggi Musicali (Milan), and the South Netherlands Philharmonic. Over the past decade, he has collaborated with an array of esteemed conductors, including Vasily Petrenko, Fabio Luisi, Jukka - Pekka Saraste, Marin Alsop, Nikolaj Znaider, Ton Koopman, Roberto Abbado, Mikhail Pletnev, Andrey Boreyko, Dmitry Liss, Andris Poga, and Vladimir Ashkenazy. Born into a family of musicians, Sergej Krylov began studying the violin at the age of five. He graduated from the Central Music School in Moscow under the tutelage of Sergei I. Kravchenko, and later studied with Abram Shtern and Salvatore Accardo. Since 2008, he has served as Music Director of the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, performing in the dual role of soloist and conductor across a repertoire that spans from Baroque to contemporary music. He frequently tours the Baltic countries and performs in major European concert halls. His conducting engagements have expanded to include collaborations with the Russian National Orchestra, the Moscow Philharmonic, I Pomeriggi Musicali (Milan), Teatro Carlo Felice (Genoa), and the Zagreb Philharmonic. Since 2012, Krylov has held a professorship at the Lugano Conservatory in Switzerland. He has served on the juries of several prestigious international competitions, including the XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition, the 10^th Fritz Kreisler Violin Competition in Vienna, and the 55^th and 56^th editions of the International Niccolò Paganini Competition in Genoa, where he currently serves as chairman. Krylov has recorded for Melodiya, EMI, and Deutsche Grammophon. The latter released his acclaimed interpretations of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and Paganini’s 24 Caprices—both of which received widespread critical praise. Sergej Krylov premiered Ezio Bosso’s violin concerto Esoconcerto with the Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro La Fenice, in a live performance conducted by the composer and released by Sony Classical. He also recorded Krzysztof Penderecki’s violin concerto Metamorphosen, again under the baton of the composer, as part of a project dedicated to documenting Penderecki’s complete works.
