Radosveta Boyadzhieva (1923–2018) was born in 1923 in Vratsa, in the family of the distinguished lawyer Anto Boyadzhiev. She became the first female professional conductor of opera symphonic music in Bulgaria.
In 1941-1945, she studied at the National academy of music, and then graduated Symphony and Opera Conductor at the Leningrad Conservatory. She has worked at Bolshoi Theater and as assistant conductor at the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra.
After returning to Bulgaria, she was active as conductor of the National Opera (1950-1973), and also as founder and artistic director of the Vratsa Philharmonic Orchestra (1973-1988). In 2001, she organized a Chamber orchestra in Vratsa and performed a series of concerts in the country.
Radosveta Boyadzhieva has conducted symphony orchestras in Poland, Romania, Italy, Belgium, Germany, and Cuba. For more than 20 years, she has been a teacher at the National Academy of Music (Bulgarian State Conservatory).
She wrote the Requiem „Prayer for Bulgaria“, for choir, orchestra and soloists (2006).
