Petros Petridis

Petros John Petridis (1892–1977) was a Turkish-born Greek composer. He studied with Hugo Wolf and later with Albert Roussel. He became a Greek citizen in 1913, and worked as a music critic for English, American and Greek Magazines. He lived both in Athens and Paris. Petridis wrote 5 symphonies, orchestral works, chamber music, vocal music and theatre music. He belonged to the Greece's leading composers alongside composers such as Mikis Theodorakis, Nikos Skalkottas and Manolis Kalomiris.
