Petar Kalchev

Petar Kalchev was born in Varna. He graduated from the Krastyo Sarafov National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts with a degree in Acting for Puppet Theatre in the class of Prof. Rumen Rachev. He began his career at the Konstantin Velichkov Drama and Puppet Theatre in Pazardzhik, where he quickly established himself as a dramatic actor. His debut there was in the role of Davitko in Epic Times by Yordan Radichkov. From 2000 to 2021, he was a member of the “Behind the Canal”Small City Theatre in Sofia. Since 2021, he has been part of the company of the Aleko Konstantinov Satirical Theatre. His notable roles include: Ferdinand in Intrigue and Love by Friedrich Schiller (director Bina Haralampieva); Gorilkov in Golemanov by St. L. Kostov (director Marius Kurkinski); Karl in The Drunks by Ivan Viripaev (director Yavor Gyrdev); Patrick in Perfect Intruders by Jean‑Pierre Martinez (director Nikolay Gundorov); Mario in Love to the End by Aldo Nikolai (director Nikolay Lambrev); Tiku in The Plague (A Cheerful Tale of Serious Things!) by George Kokos (director Boil Banov); and Henry Lipiat in Everybody Loves Gary by Noël Coward (director Andrey Avramov). Petar Kalchev is also a well‑known television and film actor. He has appeared in the Bulgarian TV series Retribution, Undercover, and Sofia Residents in Excess. He is widely recognized for his roles as Parushev in All Inclusive and Police Officer Nikolov in The Road to Honor. His film credits include Spartak, The Motorcycle, Voivoda, and others. He is actively involved in dubbing major feature films, animated films, television series, and commercials.
