Ovidiu Varga

Romanian composer and teacher Ovidiu Varga (1913–1993) received training in violin and composition in Iași, and later he taught at the Bucharest Conservatory. He composed much vocal music, including Sdnteia Eliberäii, oratorio for Soloists, Chorus, and Orch. (1954), the Cantata bucuriei for Soloists, Chorus, and Orch. (Bucharest, July 1960), mass songs, and solo songs. Among his other works were a String Quartet, Primavara viefii (1953), and a Concerto for Strings and Percussion (1957).
