The talented Greek singer NICHOLAS SPANOS was trained at the school of Aris Christofellis and at the University of Maryland School of Music Opera Studio (U.S.A.) with Linda Mabbs and Leon Major. He completed a postgraduate course in Lied and Oratorio with Charles Spencer at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. He has participated in master classes with renowned singers such as Kurt Equiluz, Delores Ziegler, Anna Tomowa-Sintow and Michael Chance.

In addition to his operatic engagements, Spanos has given recitals and appeared as a soloist in cantatas and oratorios throughout the world. He has toured with the Vienna State Opera, the Greek National Opera, the Lorraine Opera and the Egyptian Opera. He has sung in prestigious concert halls in London, Brussels, Vienna, Salzburg, Paris, Munich, Sydney, Melbourne, Taiwan and elsewhere. He has performed with the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, the Venice Baroque Orchestra, Les Talens Lyriques, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, the Armonia Atenea and Alraune ensembles, and the Athens and Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestras.

For several years he has been a regular collaborator with the early music ensembles “Ex Silentio”, “Latinitas nostra”, “Ensemble 1756” and “Pandolfis Consort Wien”, with whom he has recorded his latest albums “Moving Telemann” (2019) and “Vivaldi: Nisi Dominus & Stabat Mater” (2021).

In November 2002 he was awarded the “Best Young Artist of the Year” prize by the Association of Theatre and Music Critics of Greece. In 2006 he was awarded first prize at the TECHNI National Competition for Opera Singers in Thessaloniki.
