Nadia Shehabi

NADIA SHEHABI was born in Timișoara, Romania, but spent the first ten years of her life in Bulgaria. Coming from a mixed family—her father is of Arab descent and her mother is a Banat Bulgarian—she grew up in a multicultural environment, which greatly influenced her personal and artistic development. Although she resided in Sofia, during her first five years she attended an Arabic-language school, which provided her with a diverse educational perspective. From an early age, Nadia Shehabi was drawn to the arts—she sings, dances, and paints. At the age of nine, she began learning the flute. When she was ten, her family moved to Romania, settling in the village of Breștea, an area with a significant Bulgarian community. There, she actively participated in cultural activities, joining the Bulgarian folk dance ensemble "Brestea" in the village. A few years later, she began learning the guitar, which she played for five years. However, her true passion was singing, and although she studied Engineering and Management at the West University of Timișoara, she never gave up music. She attended pop singing courses for three years at the National School of Arts (part of the Center for Culture and Arts in Timișoara), and later continued to work with various teachers to perfect her vocal technique. Currently, Nadia Shehabi is a soloist in the cover band "2B Band," performing at private and public events. She is also involved in folk dancing; she is a choreographer and instructor for the "Slavyak" ensemble of the Union of Banat Bulgarians in Timișoara, which performs Bulgarian folk dances.
