Minko Lambov

MINKO LAMBOV was born in Sofia, in the family of the Bulgarian composer, pianist and conductor Kiril Lambov and music teacher Rusalina Lambova. He studied at the Lubomir Pipkov National School of Music and then at the Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music. She graduated from New Bulgarian University with a Master's degree in conducting and composition in the class of maestro Georgi Dimitrov. A composer with broad creative interests and aspirations, he creates works in various genres - symphonic music, opera, musical and ballet music, film music, jazz, ethnic, fusion, pop music, songs for children, etc. Minko Lambov is an artist with a burning emotionality and a rich orchestral sound, he is in constant search of the new, experimenting with great interest in mixing different genres. His emblematic projects and works include Ethno-fusion formation "Shaka Zulu Orchestra", pop-opera "The Fisherman and His Soul", ballet "The Tempest" based on A.N. Ostrovsky, the children musichall Wild Swans, the tone poem "Golden Age", "My Prayer" based on Hristo Botev's eponymous poem for mixed choir and orchestra, etc. In 2015, the composer met the distinguished Bulgarian violinist Svetlin Roussev, who recorded the dance "Supplication" from the composer's pop opera "The Fisherman and His Soul" (based on the story by Oscar Wilde) in an inimitable way. Inspired by the mastery of the virtuoso performer and the wonderful sound of his violin - "Camposelice" - Stradivarius 1710, Minko Lambov decided to write a violin concerto especially for him and dedicate it to him. The work was ready literally in a few days and is called "Camposelice - Passion fatale" . In March 2020, taking advantage of the fact that due to the newly announced measures related to the COVID pandemic he has the opportunity to create undisturbed for a whole week, Minko Lambov creates a new, this time double concerto for violin, piano and orchestra. Again the work is dedicated to Svetlin Roussev, but this time there is also a dedication to the virtuoso Korean pianist Yeol Eum Son. The premiere was scheduled for 1 April 2021, but the pandemic situation prevents it from taking place. In the meantime he composed another concerto for Svetlin Roussev, Concerto Piece for Violin and Orchestra, the title of which is a play on words, influenced by the time in which the work was composed - Quartinella. During the period 2019 - 2021 Minko Lambov wrote music for the films "The Khan and the Empire" directed by acad. Ludmil Staykov, "Goodbye Johnny", "Drink the Silence to the Bottom", "Selma", "Anna", "Boat in the Forest", etc.
