The bass MATTHIAS HELM studied solo singing with Rotraud Hansmann and has completed Lied and Оratorio with Robert Holl at the Universität für Musik und darst. Kunst Wien (Class of 2002). As a concert singer, the young musitian has been reconized for his performance of great oratorios and passions of J. S. Bach, George Frideric Handel, Felix Mendelssohn or C. Orff, F. Martin and P. He has worked with orchestras such as the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Concentus Musicus Vienna, Ensemble Barucco, the Orpheus Baroque Orchestra, etc. Matthias Helm’s special relationship to song has been documented in numerous recitals in Austria and abroad. Particularly successful is his collaboration with the guitar Duo Hasard, with whom they released in 2016 the album “The Pretty Miller”, which was awarded the Ö1 Pasticcio Prize the same year.

His extensive stage repertoire includes roles from the Renaissance to the 21st century. Various productions have taken him to the “Theater im Volksgarten” in Linz, the “Theater an der Wien”, the Paris Philharmonic, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Vienna Chamber Opera, the Philharmonie Luxembourg, the Origen Festival, etc. Matthias Helm has toured in many European countries as well as in the USA, South Korea and Singapore.
