Biography
One of the most charismatic tenors of his generation, MATTEO FALCIER studied singing at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, then went on to the Accademia di Scala di Milano, and attended the advanced course at the Rodolfo Celletti Academy in Martina Franca. His debut was in 2010 as Paolino in Cimarosa's Matrimonio Segreto, followed by appearances at the Stresa Festival and Teatro Regio in Turin. He has sung in major opera houses, under the baton of conductors R. Muti, G. Conlon, C. Abado, D. Rustioni, C. Goldstein, G. Bisanti, R. Boer, F. М. Carminati and P. Rizzo, with directors C. Mazzavillani, L. Muscato, D. Michieletto, T. Gilliam, G. Strehler, J. P. Ponnelle and F. Ozpetek. In 2016 he sang the roles of Rodolfo in Puccini's La Boheme at the Circuito Lombardo, Rinuccio in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi at the Rome Opera, Fenton in Verdi's Falstaff at the Luglio Musicale Trapanese and Don Basilio in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro in the Japanese tour of the Wiener Staatsoper conducted by R. Muti. The following year he successfully performed the roles of Tebaldo in Bellini's I Capuleti ei Montecchi at the Teatro di Verona and Alfredo Germont in Verdi's La Traviata at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, then took part in a concert performance of Puccini's Manon Lescaut at the New Zealand Opera, and sang Alfredo Germont in La Traviata with great success in the Japanese tour of the Bologna Opera. He also made his debut as the Duke of Mantua in Verdi's Rigoletto at the Circuito Lombardo. In 2018 he sang Beppe in Leoncavallo's Pagliacci at the Rome Opera. In the same season, he was again in the role of Paolino in Matrimonio Segreto at the Royal Walloon Opera in Liège, then made his debut as Don Ottavio in Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Nice Opera House and at the Theatre of the Antibes, Ernesto in Donizetti's Don Pasquale in Verona, Don Basilio in Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro at the Teatro Amintore Galli and the Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna and Arnoldo in Rossini's Guglielmo Tell at the Operas of Como and Brescia, the Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto at the Jerusalem Festival and Beppe in Pagliacci at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari. In 2020 he participated in a concert performance of Pagliacci and Cavaleria Rusticana in Ravenna under the baton of R. Muti, and in 2021 in Mass, Op. 20 by Ponchielli in Verona. In the following 2022-23 he sang on numerous Italian opera stages - in Genoa, Bologna, Livorno, Rome, Palermo, Catania, Milan, Pisa, Turin, touring also in the national opera houses of Taiwan and Tbilisi.
