MARTINA MITOVA (b. 1991) started her musical education with piano and continued as a percussionist at the Dobrin Petkov National School of Music and Dance in Plovdiv, in the percussion class of Pencho Penchev.
She graduated with a master’s degree at the Prof. Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music (2010-2016), in the percussion class of Tatiana Karparova. She has participated in numerous competitions and festivals, master classes, and has won numerous awards as a solo and ensemble performer. In parallel with his studies she obtained a pedagogical practice in the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music – Sofia under Maria Palieva, head percussion teacher. She also practised at the New Symphony Orchestra, where she was also timpanist, and obtained the position of timpanist and percussion group leader at the Sofia Philharmonic (2017). She has participated in various orchestral formations at home and abroad, making numerous recordings and concerts with them.
Since 2019 she is a member of the jury of the Pendim International Percussion Competition in Plovdiv.
