Maria Trendafilova Tabakova

MARIA TABAKOVA - TRENDAFILOVA (Мezzo-soprano) is a graduate of Music Pedagogy at the Prof. А. Diamandiev Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv and Classical Singing at the Prof. Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music in Sofia (in the class of prof. Margarita Basnarova and specialization with Assoc. Prof. Velizara Karayankova). She was awarded Third Prize in the St. Obretenov Competition in Provadia. Since 2005 she has been a chorister in the National Philharmonic Choir. She has soloed in cantata-oratorio works: Dixit Dominus by Antonio Vivaldi, Requiem by Karl Jenkins, Psalms by Leonard Bernstein, Rejoice in the Lamb by Benjamin Britten, Missa Brevis by Zoltan Kodály, Requiem by Alfred Schnittke, etc. She has also been a soloist in the performance of West Side Story with the Sofia Philharmonic and the National Philharmonic Choir under the baton of Iliya Mihaylov.
