Biography
Lubov Stuchevskaya was born in Moscow where she started her professional music education at the Ippolitov- Ivanov Musical College. She continued her studies at the Opera School of the Royal College of Music in London and privately with the renowned vocal teacher Vera Rosza. She participated in masterclasses with such world famous singers as Mirella Freni, Giuseppe di Stefano, Luigi Alva, Nikolai Gedda, Grace Bumbry, Nico Castel, Ileana Cotrubas, Graham Clark, Elena Obraztsova as well as two consecutive years at the Metropolitan Opera workshop. After her London debut in the role of Lisa in Tchaikovsky's "Queen of Spades" Miss Stuchevskaya continued her career worldwide singing such roles as Mimi in Puccini's "La Boheme", "Tosca " and Cio-Cio-San in "Madama Butterfly", as well as Leonora in Verdi's "Il Trovatore” and Tatiana in Tchaikovsky's " Eugene Onegin". Her repertoire also included the title role in Dvorak's "Rusalka" and Verdi's "Aida". Since 2013 Miss Stuchevskaya performs major Wagnerian roles such as Elisabeth in "Tannhäuser", Senta in "Der Fliegender Holländer", Isolde in "Tristan und Isolde" and the title role of Salome in Strauss's "Salome". Her repertoire also includes Renata in Prokofiev's "Fiery Angel", Caterina in "Lady Macbeth of Mzensk" by Schostakovitch and Marina in Mussorgsky's "Boris Godunov". Her Italian operatic repertoire is also expanding. She sings such important roles as Turandot in Puccini's "Turandot", Maddalena in Giordano's "Andrea Chenier', Santuzza in Mascagni's "Cavalleria Rusticana". Most recent edition to Miss Stuchevskaya's repertoire are the heavy dramatic roles such as Brünhilde in Wagner's "Die Walküre", "Siegfried", "Götterdämmerung" as well as Freihilde in "Guntram" and Elektra in "Elektra" by Richard Strauss. Lubov Stuchevskaya is also an active concert singer. Her oratorio repertoire includes Beethoven's Symphony Nr. 9, Britten's War Requiem, Rossini's Stabat Mater, Janacek Messa Glagolica, Verdi's Requiem and Schostakovitch Symphony Nr. 14. She collaborated with such world renowned conductors as Bruno Bartoletti, Charles Dutoit, Gennady Rozdestvensky, Solli Aronovsky, Eve Queller, David Wilcocks, Dmitry Jurowski, James Lockhart, Marcello Montadelli, Alberto Veronesi, Vahan Martirossian and stage directors such as John Copley, Keith Warner, Malcolm Fraser, David Pountney and Giandomenico Vaccari. In summer 2019 Lubov Stuchevskaya made her debut in the title role of Turandot at the Puccini Festival at Torre Del Lago. She was immediately invited to retake the role in the season of 2020. In October 2019 she sang a Wagner gala with the Sibiu Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Matthias Fletzberger.
Since then she made several recordings with the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Peter Valentovic. She participated in numerous Wagner and Richard Strauss gala concerts all over Europe. Future engagements include Nyssia in König Kandaules by A. Zemlinsky, Senta in Wagner's Der Fliegende Holländer, Elektra in ‘Elektra’ by Richard Strauss, Gioconda in Amilcare Ponchielli’s ‘La Gioconda’ and world Premiere of Jeffrey Ching's " Senecae's Dialog".
