Katharina Paul

KATHARINA PAUL (b. 2004) started piano lessons at the age of 4, from 2017 to 2022 she studied percussion in the preparatory program at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna under prof. Gerhard Windbacher and prof. Anton Mittermayr. From 2019 she studies French horn in the preparatory program, and from 2023 she became a full-time student of Thomas Jöbstl. She has repeatedly received prizes at regional and national competitions, and in 2021 she won the Young Talent Award of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and performed as soloist of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. That same year she also became one of the winners of the Musica Juventutis competition. Since February 2024, she has been a member of the Tonkünstler Orchestra of Lower Austria, and has also played on a substitute basis with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Volksoper, the Vienna State Opera Orchestra and the Bruckner Orchestra in Linz. In the 2024/25 season, she is the representative artist of Jeunesse Austria.
