Kateryna Shvets

KATERYNA SHVETS graduated in 2019 from the Faculty of Choral Conducting at the National Music Academy in Odessa (Ukraine). She later pursued orchestral conducting in the class of Simeon Pironkoff at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. She has collaborated with numerous ensembles in Ukraine, as well as with the Symphony Orchestra of the Kharkiv Opera and Ballet Theatre in Slovakia, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Vienna University of Economics and Business, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Szolnok Symphony Orchestra, and the Webern Symphony Orchestra. She participated in the International Kiev Fest (Ukraine, 2021) and the International Youth Music Festival Fountain of Talents (Poland, 2018 and 2024). In 2019, she won first prize in the orchestral conducting category at the International Music Competition Caspi Art in Turkey. Shvets has taken part in masterclasses with distinguished conductors Martin Brabbins, Ricardo Averbach, Marin Alsop, Philippe Auguin, Gerasim Voronkov, and Yu Feng. Since 2022, she has been a member of the Arnold Schönberg Choir (Vienna), performing in major projects including Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s The Seasons, and Bach’s St. John Passion. In 2024, she founded the Music Without Borders festival, a charitable initiative supporting musically gifted children in Ukraine. She currently serves as the festival’s artistic director and principal conductor of the Festival Symphony Orchestra.
