Kalina Vladovska

KALINA VLADOVSKA (b. 1999) is a performing percussionist with an active solo and ensemble career on concert stage. While still a graduate of the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music with teacher Maria Palieva, she received a special invitation to perform a solo marimba concert in Amsterdam with the Amsterdam Mandolin Ensemble, conducted by Neleke ter Berg. At the academic level, she continues her studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where she graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in 2022 and continues with a Master’s degree. She studied with Bulgarian marimbist and percussionist Tatiana Koleva. In her second year as a student, she won first prize at the prestigious Princess Christina Competition. This provided her with opportunities for new solo concert performances at the Concertgebouw’s Hall of Mirrors (broadcast on Dutch National Radio); a tour as soloist of E. Rautavaara Percussion Concerto: Incantations with the Netherlands Youth Orchestra (2019/2020 season). For the 2022/2023 season, she has been recruited as a member of The Hague Percussion Group.

Her band performances are equally important and intense. Since 2017, Vladovska has been accepted into the Youth Percussion Formation, winner of the Ensemble of the Year Award in 2012 with artistic director Tatiana Koleva.

During her school years, she was a regular member of the Pioneer Philharmonic for five years, and continued to perform periodically thereafter. She joined the orchestra for its tour in Musikverein, Vienna. She has performed with numerous ensembles in the Netherlands, including the Orchestra of the North Netherlands, the Scheveningen Music Theatre Orchestra and the Youth Academy of the Metropole Orchestra.
