Julian Vergov

Julian Vergov is one of the most prominent contemporary Bulgarian theater and film actors, known for his roles in numerous popular television series and a wide range of television programs. He graduated in acting from the Luben Groys Theater College, studying in the class of Prof. Tsvetana Maneva, in 2001. Vergov has performed in productions at the Salza and Smyah Theater, the Ivan Vazov National Theater, Theatre 199 “Valentin Stoychev”, the Bulgarian Army Theater, and the Aleko Konstantinov Satirical Theater. In 2013, together with Vladimir Karamazov and Zahari Baharov, he founded the production company Three Bears Entertainment; the trio later received the “Lyubimets 13 – Acting Ensemble” award. Since 2014, Vergov has been a dedicated ambassador for Night of the Theaters, part of the broader European Night of the Theaters initiative. In 2019, he joined other well‑known artists in creating the “Poets” project. His impressive performances have earned him numerous nominations and prestigious awards in Bulgaria and abroad, including the Ikar Award from the Union of Artists in Bulgaria (2014), the Askeer Award for his portrayal of Ivan Vazov in Alexander Sekulov’s Vazov’s People (2022), the Best Actor Award at the Golden Rose Bulgarian Feature Film Festival (2021), and the Vasil Gendov Award for Best Leading Actor from the Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers (2022), among others.
