Jiří Jaroch

Jiří Jaroch (1920–1986) was a Czech composer. He studied composition at the Prague Conservatory with Jaroslav Řídký and at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. In addition, he studied viola with the prominent Czech violist Ladislav Černý. At the same time, he worked until 1947 as a violist in the orchestra of the Prague State Opera. In 1947, he became a member of the editorial board of the Czechoslovak Radio in Prague. He successively worked as a program worker, music director and dramaturg. In the years 1954–1955, he was also the conductor of Kmoch's music in Kolín.
