Jake Runestad

American composer and conductor JAKE RUNESTAD (1986) has achieved the greatest recognition for his opera, orchestral and choral music. He has received numerous awards for his work from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), the American Composers Forum, the Otto Bremer Foundation, the National Association for Music Education, and others. Selected as the Choral Arts Composer-in-Residence for the 2015-16. Runestad is a member of the New Music Program Council of the United States. His first album of choral music, The Hope of Loving (2019), received a Grammy nomination for “Best Choral Performance" (Conspirare, conducted by Craig Hela Johnson). In 2014, he was commissioned by Choral Arts Northwest to compose Let My Love Be Heard on the lyrics by Alfred Noyes.
