He has studied at the School of Music of Brescia and graduated in Organ and Organ Composition with high marks under M° F. Castelli. At the same time he got the Diploma of “Maturità Classica” and then went to university, attending the courses of the D.A.M.S. Music section at the faculty of “Lettere e Filosofia” in Bologna. He has also studied composition and orchestra conductorship with M° G. Cataldo, widening his knowledge and experience.

Conductor of the “Orchestra Vox Aurae” of Brescia since 1992, in 2003 he became the Artistic Director and 1st Conductor of the “Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico” of Vicenza. Until December 2011 he was on several tours, with this orchestra, both in Italy and abroad, performing also at the Carnegie Hall in New York.

The thirty-year career has led him to collaborate with many internationally renowned soloists such as L.G. Uriol, M. Fornaciari, S. Krylov, F. Manara, D. Rossi, A. Persichilli, P. Hommage, E. Klein, U. Clerici, B. Engerer, P. Entremont, M. Rudy, E. Virsaladze, R. Cappello, E. Fisk, C. Pereira, S. Mintz, U. Ughi, P. Amoyal, V. Brodsky, R. Bahrami, S. Milenkovic, Mischa Maisky, Olga Kern. He had significant experiences of musical contamination with Jazz and Pop music artists such as R. Galliano, Hiromi Uehara, Uri Caine, Ute Lemper. He has also successfully conducted Italian and foreign orchestras many times: Orchestra of Padua and Veneto, “I Pomeriggi Musicali” of Milan, Italian Philharmonic Orchestra, Abruzzo Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the “Carlo Felice” Theater of Genoa, Europa Philharmonie Orchestra of Magdeburg, “Mainzer Kammerorchester” of Mainz, Wroclaw Symphony Orchestra (Poland), Symphonic Orchestra of Kiev, Hermitage Orchestra of St. Petersburg, the Helsinki Baroque Ensemble, Philharmonic Orchestra of Turin, I Virtuosi Italiani, String Orchestra of the Teatro Regio of Turin, the “Riverside Synphonie Orchestra” (New Jersey), Orchestra Philarmonie der Nationen in the Festival der Nationen, Orquesta Sinfonica del Estado de Mèxico, Symphony Orchestra of the Teatro Nacional de Brasília, Orquestra Clássica da Madeira, Symphony Orchestra of Cyprus, Symphony Orchestra of Extremadura, Symphony Orchestra of Maracaíbo, Symphony Orchestra of Manaus, Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, Toronto Symphony, Istanbul Symphony Orchestra, Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of Kalisz (Poland), Philharmony Hradec Kràlovè at the “Smetana Hall” in Prague, Cascais Symphony, Varna Symphony Orchestra (Bulgaria), Prague Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of Timisoara, Guanajuato Symphony (Mexico), Sofia Symphony Orchestra (Bulgaria), Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, Hohenems Symphony Orchestra (Austria), the Symphony Orchestras of Rudolstadt, Halbertstadt, Essen in Germany. He also had the honour and pleasure to conduct the “Philarmonische Kammerorchester Munchen” and the “London Mozart Players” for a series of concerts in Europe in 2008 and 2009.

In 2009 he conducted the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese at Teatro alla Scala di Milano, with appreciation both by the public and the critics, in a special concert promoting the rebuilding of the Teatro Comunale of L’Aquila, after the earthquake. In April 2010, for the same purpose, he recorded a CD with clarinetist Fabrizio Meloni at the “Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia” in Rome, published by “Amadeus” magazine. In 2012 he was invited to conduct the Symphonic Orchestra of Bilbao by the Festivales de Santander, performing Respighi’s “Trilogia” and the world première of the Symphony n.10 of Tomàs Marco. In 2015 he conducted the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese in the Pauline Chapel of the Quirinale Palace in the presence of the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella. As for the opera conduction, M° De Lorenzo has been engaged in various productions: “Le Nozze di Figaro” by W. A. Mozart, “Rigoletto” by G. Verdi and “La Serva Padrona” by G.B. Pergolesi, “Il Signor Bruschino” by G. Rossini, “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” by G. Paisiello, “Elisir d’amore” by G. Donizetti at the Seoul Opera House and “La Traviata” by G. Verdi at the Tirana Opera House.

De Lorenzo is Artistic Director of the musical season “Spazio Sinfonico” in Brescia, Italy. Since January 2012 he has been appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Grosseto. Since 1 January 2015 he is also Artistic Director and Music Director of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo, one of the oldest and most prestigious Italian musical realities. The Orchestra was born in 1905, it is part of the 14 Concert Orchestral Institutions (ICO) recognized by the State (since the foundation of the first six ICOs in 1967) and it is a Cultural Institution of Regional Interest of the Italian region Liguria.
