George Bird

George Bird was an American conductor. In the 1980s he performed mainly in Germany.

In 1959 he became the first African-American to conduct the West Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

He is also known for his performance as an American soldier named Bill in Rainer Werner Fassbinder's 1978 film The Wedding of Maria Braun.
