Florent de Bosk

Florent de Bosk is a French conductor whose artistic development is grounded in solid instrumental training and an early-emerging conducting vision. An accomplished violinist and trumpeter, he began conducting at the age of 16 — a start that laid the foundation for a rapidly developing international career.

His training includes a unanimously awarded First Prize in Conducting from the Conservatoire in Paris (CRR), as well as a Master’s degree from the École Normale de Musique de Paris, completed within one year. Alongside his conducting studies, he pursued specializations in orchestration, composition, and violin, shaping his comprehensive musical profile. After his academic training, he continued his development with pedagogues such as Jorma Panula, Matthieu Herzog and Louis Langrée. His research interests include scholarly work at the Sorbonne University devoted to Requiems of the second half of the nineteenth century.

In 2023, he co-founded the Orchestre Albatros — an ensemble composed of young professional musicians and artists at the end of their studies, with the primary mission of making classical music accessible to new and younger audiences. Under his direction, the orchestra presents regular concerts at the La Seine Musicale and participates in festivals such as Musique à Groix, l’Automne Musical du Vésinet, and Paulyphonie. During the 2024–2025 season, audiences under the age of 28 represented 46% of attendees — an indicator of the ensemble’s successful strategy for attracting new listeners. The first album of Orchestre Albatros is scheduled for release in July 2026.

Florent de Bosk has conducted ensembles including the Bucharest Philharmonic, the Hungarian National Orchestra in Szeged, the orchestra of the Plovdiv Opera, the Andalusian Orchestra, the Orchestre de Picardie, the orchestra of Opéra de Massy, the Orchestre de l'Opéra Comique, the Orchestre Lamoureux, and the Choir of Radio France.

Alongside his concert activity, he serves as Music Director of a new festival dedicated to the connection between classical music and gastronomy, with its first program planned for 2026.
