Fidosi Kerchev

The young Bulgarian pianist FIDOSI KERCHEV was born in 1998 in Razgrad. He graduated from the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music in Sofia in 2017 and continued his studies at the CRR Conservatoire of Music in Paris. In 2019 he enrolled at the Royal Conservatoire in Brussels in the piano class of Johan Schmidt, graduating in 2020 with a Bachelor's degree and in 2022 with a Master's degree with the highest distinction "plus grande distingtion". The 24-year-old pianist is a award winner of numerous prestigious national and international competitions. Among his most significant achievements are: the First Prize of the Breughel Competition - Brussels (2019), the First Prize of the IX Albert Roussel International Piano Competition - Sofia, the First Prize of the VI International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition - Japan, the Grand prix of the XXIV Music and Earth International Competition, and the Grand prix of the II International La Musique et la Terre Competition in Paris. High distinctions are: in 2014 - "Diplome Superior", in 2015 - "Diplome de Virtuosité", and in 2017 - "Diplome de concert" from the famous "La Scolla Cantorum" in Paris. He has been a soloist of the Royal Orchestra of Liège (Belgium), Ensemble Orchestral de Bruxelles, the Symphony Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio - Sofia, New Symphony Orchestra - Sofia, Ruse Philharmonic Orchestra, orchestras in Shumen, Vidin, Vratsa and Razgrad under the conductors Gergely Madaras, Jacques Vanherenthals (Belgium), Robert Gutter (USA), Rossen Gergov, Stanislav Ushev, Georgi Patrikov, Vitali Laidinen (Russia), Deyan Pavlov, Svilen Simeonov, Krasen Ivanov, to name a few. He has given outstanding piano recitals at the Bulgarian Embassy in Tokyo, the Bulgarian Cultural Centre in Paris, the Flagey Hall in Brussels, the French Institute, the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, etc. He has participated in master classes with Natalia Trull, Marie-Josèphe Jude , Jenny Zaharieva, Pascal Godard, Roland Pöntinen, Chantal Stigliani and others. He has played at the New Year Music Festival and Salon of Arts festivals in Sofia, Varna Summer Festival and Sofia Music Weeks. The young pianist's rich artistic biography also includes his performances of Piano Concerto No. 1 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Robert Schumann's The Piano Concerto in A minor, Piano Concerto No. 2 in B♭ major by Johannes Brahms, Piano Concerto No. 18 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 2 and Dmitri Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 1. As a high school student, in 2016 he was nominated for a Crystal Lyre in the Young Artist category. In 2019, in the framework of Le Festival MUSICORUM in Brussels, he soloed at the "Ensemble Orchestral de Bruxelles" with Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 18, conducted by Jacques Vanherenthals, under the patronage of Prince and Princess Amaury de Mérode at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts. In February 2020, he was appointed to represent the Royal Conservatoire in Brussels in a concert to Queen Mathilde of Belgium. Fidosi Kerchev is an exceptional talent who possesses a complex of qualities of a bright concert artist - besides musicality and brilliance, intellectual capacity so necessary in mastering the great concert forms such as Brahms's Concerto No. 2, Tchaikovsky's Concerto No. 1, Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition...
