Evelin Kostova

EVELIN KOSTOVA was born in Pernik. She studied at the Professional High School of Economics and performed at the Musketaires Children’s and Youth Theater in her hometown. She graduated from the Krustyo Sarafov National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in the class of Prof. Stefan Danailov and began her career at the Ivan Radoev Drama and Puppet Theater in Pleven. Since 2017, she has been a member of the troupe of the Bulgarian Army Theater. Among her notable roles are: Magdalena in Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare, Marianne in Tartuffe by Jean‑Baptiste Molière, and Savka in Albena by Yordan Yovkov (directed by Krasimir Spasov); Bolette in Henrik Ibsen’s The Lady from the Sea (director Vasilena Popilieva); Clea in Peter Shaffer’s Black Comedy (director Ivan Urumov); Michelle in Romy Schneider’s Pool by Stefan Vogel (director Atanas Atanasov); Hester Worsley in A Woman of No Importance (director Stoyan Radev); Monica in Step by Step by Peter Quilter (director Liza Shopova); and roles in About Love… and the Funniest Night, based on texts by Yana Borisova (director Dimitar Kotsev–Shosho). In 2022, she appeared in the production Lambo’s Gang, directed by Rositsa Obreshkova. Evelin Kostova made her television debut as Maggie in the series Where Is Maggie. She has also appeared in Sex, Lies and TV, Sofia Residents in Excess, Sunny Beach, as well as in short and feature films, including Rules and the series Return. In 2021, she received two Best Actress awards for her role as Petya in the short film Coercion at international film festivals in Prague, London, and New York.
