Ernst Anschütz
Biography
Ernst Anschütz (1780–1861) was a German teacher, organist, poet, and composer. He worked as a teacher in Leipzig for 50 years and wrote the lyrics and melodies of numerous well-known German children's and Christmas songs. His most famous song is O Tannenbaum. He is known also for his account of the death of Johann Christian Woyzeck in 1824.
