ELENA MECHADZHIYSKA (soprano) graduated in classical singing at the South-West University in Blagoevgrad, then pursued her studies with Prof. Mila Dyulgerova. She took part in master classes of Prof. Elena Filipova. She specialized in opera singing in Vienna. She studied interpretation with Maestro Mihail Angelov and worked with one of the greatest musical experts, Richard Trimborn.
She made her debut on the stage of the Sofia Opera in the role of Sigrún from Wagner’s Die Walküre and performed this role in the company’s tour at the Bolshoi Theatre. She participated in gala opera concerts of Sofia and Rousse Opera. She appears as a soloist of the Sofia Philharmonic in cantata-oratorio, symphonic, chamber works and musicals. She has soloed under the baton of Mihail Angelov, Georgi Dimitrov, Plamen Djourov, Velizar Genchev, Grigor Palikarov, Pavel Balev, Michel Brousseau and others.
Elena Mehandzhiyska is part of the BELLA VOCE vocal ensemble, with which she performs chamber concerts on the stage of the Sofia Philharmonic. She has been a soloist of chamber ensembles such as Quarto Quartet, Sofia Soloists, Sofia Quartet, Frosch Quartet. She has appeared in concert with the famous Bulgarian pianists Rostislav Yovchev, Margarita Ilieva and others. The singer has been nominated in the ranking of the Bulgarian National Radio’s “Allegro Vivace” for “Musician of the Year” – 2019.
