Dora Draganova

Dora Draganova (b. 1946) is a daughter of the composer Iliya Draganov. She graduated from the State Academy of Music (1972). She studied Composition under Professor Parashkev Hadjiev and Professor Vesselin Stoyanov. She teaches Harmony at the National Dance Art High School (former State Choreographic High School) and Piano at the Lyubomir Pipkov National Music High School. From 1971 to 1991 she edited the choral literature magazine Native Song. She wrote stage and chamber music opuses; over 300 songs and pieces for children; choral and pop music; music to 50 cartoon films. The collection of piano pieces Children’s Corner was awarded by the Union of Bulgarian Composers; her musical play Pippi Long Stocking after Astrid Lindgren won the first prize in Dobrich (1999).
