Dimitris Kitsos

Artistic director of Orpheus Soloists, founding member of the Greek Woodwind Academy, artistic director and inspirer of the St George International Music Festival & Academy and artistic director of the Municipal Conservatory of Naoussa "Estia Mouson".
The award-winning solo oboist Dimitris Kitsos has established himself internationally as a soloist including in his career collaborations with Leonidas Kavakos, Nobuko Imai, Miklos Perenyi, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Lars Anders Tomter, Myriam Contzen, Christoph Henkel, Francois Benda, Hector McDonald, Chrisopher Hogwood, Christopher Warren-Green, Maurice Steger and with the ensembles Folkwang Kammerorchester, Athens Camerata, Kammerphilharmonie Salzburg, Royal Danish Orchestra etc.
He has recorded for Greek and German television and radio as well as three CDs with solo works by R.R.Benett, Th.Lalliet, A. Vivaldi, E. Bozza, H. Dutilleux, R. Schumann, J.S.Bach, J.Pixis and chamber music works by L.V.Beethoven.
His teaching work includes collaborations with the international Universities Folkwang Hochschule für Musik in Essen, Germany, Fu Jen Catholic University - Department of Music College of Art in Taipei, Taiwan, Dong A University, Department of Music in Pusan, South Korea. He teaches oboe and chamber music at the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki.
Dimitris Kitsos studied at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki and at the Folkwang Hochschule für Musik in Essen, Germany. He was awarded at the international competitions of Helexpo, Folkwang Hochschule and Fernand Gillet.
Since 1998 he has been Principal Oboist of the Thessaloniki State Orchestra.
Dimitris Kitsos is a Marigaux artist, included in the internationally distinguished oboists of the French company and plays with oboe 907 Marigaux/Paris.
