DEYAN PAVLOV graduated from the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music in Sofia. Then he attended the “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” Music Academy  in the classes of prof. Georgi Robev (choral conducting), prof. Vasil Kazandjiev (orchestral conducting), prof. Boris Hinchev and prof. Ivan Vulpe (opera conducting). He participated in the master classes of prof. Karl Osterreicher (1986, 1988), prof. Heinz Rögner (1989, 1990) and Ilya Musin (1991).

He conducted concerts and performances of the Ruse Philharmonic and Opera (1988-1991), led the Symphony Orchestra in Pazardzhik (1992-1998), was conductor of the Plovdiv Opera (1996-1998) and of the Opera and Philharmonic Society in Plovdiv (since 1998), was music director of the Winter Music Evenings Festival in Pazardzhik (1992-1999). From 2001 to 2012 he was conductor of the Sofia Youth Philharmonic Orchestra at the Lyubomir Pipkov National Music School. Between 2005 and 2009 he led the student orchestras of the NMA.  In 2013 he began teaching “Opera Singing with Conductor” at the Vocal Faculty of the Academy of Music, where he is currently Associate Professor. He also teaches “Opera – Symphonic Conducting” at the Theoretical-Compositional and Conducting Faculty. In 2014 he got a PhD. In parallel with his teaching activity he is the Principal Conductor of the Pleven Philharmonic Orchestra (2014 – 2021).

He has toured in Greece, Germany, Great Britain, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Czech Republic,Canada, Romania, Bahrain. He has recorded for radio and TV channels in Bulgaria, Spain and Romania. Since 1995 he has conducted with the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra- SIF 309 movie scores and contemporary music for international production companies.  He has recorded music for over 500 films, some of them awarded with Cesar (2001, 2004), Oscar (2009) and Palme d’Or (2007).

He holds annual master classes in conducting. His repertoire includes works of all styles and genres.

Deyan Pavlov has been awarded a diploma for “Excellence in Music Pedagogy and Art” by the Lyubomir Pipkov National Academy of Music (2004), the “Golden Staves” by the Union of Bulgarian Composers for excellence in the interpretation of works by Bulgarian composers and is a laureate of the “Golden Quillis” for contribution to Bulgarian culture by Classic FM Radio (2005).
