The acclaimed soprano from Kosovo, Besa Llugiqi was born in Prishtina (1986). In 2013 she won the Grand Prix Award at International Competition “Elena Nikolai” in Bulgaria. From the start, audiences in different countries were impressed by her cultivated voice, innate sense of musical line and natural legato. After her operatic debut at Tirana State Opera House (Albania) with the role of Liu from “Turandot” (G. Puccini) in 2011, she got engagements at different Opera Houses and renowned international festivals. Since 2012 she worked with the great singer Christina Anghelakova from Sofia.

Besa appeared on stage with the role of Donna Elvira from “Don Giovanni” (W. A. Mozart), Lauretta “Gianni Schicchi” (G.Puccini), Mimi from “La Boheme” (G. Puccini) and Lucia from “Lucia di Lammermoor” (G. Donizetti), Violeta Valery “La Traviata” (G. Verdi), Liu “Turandot” (G. Puccini), Lauretta”Gianni Schicchi” (G. Puccini) “Messe in A” from Cesar Franck, Gabriel Faure’s “Requiem” , Mozart’s “Requiem”. She debuted on Baltic Opera in Gdansk with the role of Thais in 2018. In 2019 she debuted in the role of Ines in „L’Africaine“ (G. Meyerbeer) where she had a chance to work with the stage director Vera Nemirova in a collaboration with Deutsche Oper Berlin. Her last debut was the role of Margherite from the opera “Faust” from Ch. Gounod.

Besa studied in the Faculty of Arts in Prishtina with Prof. Ahmet Dërguti and continued her master studies with Prof. Maria Muratovska in Faculty of Musical Art in Skopje.
