Biography
BEATRICE VENEZI is familiar to Sofia audiences from her recent appearance in the Puccini Women gala at the National Opera and Ballet House in Sofia. She is the principal guest conductor at the Puccini Festival at Tore del Lago, principal conductor of the Scarlatti Orchestra of Naples and assistant conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia in Yerevan. Born in 1990 in Lucca, she graduated from musical lyceum in her home town, then the Siena Conservatory with a piano. She studied conducting under Piero Beluggi at Florence, Gianluigi Gelmetti at the Academia Chigiana in Siena and under Vittorio Parisi at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in ftilan, where she graduated with honours from her master’s studies in 2015. She also studied composition with Gaetano Gianni Lupporini between 2008 and 2013. She has attended the master classes in piano interpretation with Professors Libetta, Balzani, Cappeli, De ftaria, Lucchesini. She has won many awards at national competitions and participated in the Aram Khachaturian international competition for conductors. As a conductor she takes special interest in contemporary music and has produced the premiere performances of a number of opuses by Italian authors like Carrara, Tarali, Gonn, Poda, ftarazzia, Lussi, Antonio Vella among others. With various orchestras in Italy and abroad, she has interpreted works by Petrassi, ftoriccone, ftaxwell Davis, Penderecki, Gubaydulina, Britten, Shostakovich, Janáček, Bartok, R. Strauss, Ives, Dallapiccola, Piazzola, along with the classical orchestra repertoire. She has conducted the symphony orchetras of the Ukrainian Radio, the State Youth Symphony Orchetra of Armenia, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Odessa, the orchestra and choir of Bolshoi Theatre – Мinsk, the orchestra of Al Bustan Festival in Beyrut, Orquestra Clássica - ftadeyra, Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti – Naples, the orchestras of Lucca, Padua, Venice, Brescia, I Pomeriggi Musicali - Мilan and others. Between 2009 and 2017 she conducted over 20 productions of Bizet’s opera Carmen (with the National Georgian Opera in Tbilisi), Puccini’s La Rondine, Manon Lescaut, Tosca, La Boheme and Madama Butterfly, Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia and Bernstein’s Candidе in various opera theaters and festivals across Italy, as well as works by Ralph Benatsky, Carl Zeller, Frederick Loewe, Ray Jessel, Adone Zecchi at the New European Festival in Stuttgart, among others. Beatrice Venezi also performs as a pianist in solo concerts and at chamber ensembles, accompanist of Italian opera repertoire, composer and arranger. She authored essaistic works on musical subjects and has had various media appearances.
