Arsen Soghomonyan

Armenian tenor Arsen Soghomonyan is recognized as one of today’s leading interpreters of the dramatic repertoire. He graduated from the Komitas State Conservatory in Yerevan and began his career at the Armenian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, where he performed numerous major baritone roles. His early distinctions include the State Prize of Armenia (2006) and First Prize at the Pavel Lisitsian International Competition. In 2008 and 2009 he participated in Raina Kabaivanska’s masterclasses at New Bulgarian University and at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, becoming a scholarship recipient of the Raina Kabaivanska Fund. In 2010 he joined the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich‑Danchenko Opera Theater in Moscow, where in 2017 he made his tenor debut as Cavaradossi in Puccini’s Tosca. His international career began the following year with the role of Roberto in Puccini’s Le Villi with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Since then, Soghomonyan has appeared at many of the world’s most prestigious opera houses, including the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, the Bolshoi Theatre, the Bavarian State Opera, the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Rome Opera, the Vienna State Opera, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the Staatsoper Stuttgart, among others. His signature roles include Otello, Cavaradossi (Tosca), and Hermann (The Queen of Spades). During the 2025–2026 season, he is engaged for performances in Athens, Liège, Shanghai, and Vienna.
